Finding the central hub for your favorite content creators can sometimes be a challenge, especially when those creators have been active for over a decade. Hat Films, the popular trio consisting of Ross Hornby, Chris Trott, and Alex Smith, has evolved significantly since their early days of Minecraft cinematic trailers. While they previously maintained dedicated websites for forums and server hosting, their community has largely migrated to modern social platforms.
If you are looking for the official home of the “boiks,” this guide provides the most current and reliable ways to connect with their content, join their community, and stay updated on their latest projects. By following these official channels, you can ensure you are getting authentic information directly from the creators themselves.
Who are the Members of Hat Films?
Hat Films is a UK-based production team and comedy group. They are widely recognized for their high production values, musical talents, and improvisational humor. The group consists of three core members who have worked together for many years.
- Ross Hornby: Known for his background in film and animation, Ross often handles much of the technical production and visual style of their content.
- Chris Trott: Often referred to as “Trottimus,” Chris is known for his role in the group’s early Minecraft series and his distinctive comedic timing.
- Alex Smith: Frequently called “Alsmiffy,” Alex contributes heavily to the group’s musical projects and is known for his quick wit and energetic personality.
Together, they have built a loyal fanbase through a variety of series, ranging from gaming and vlogs to high-budget sketches and music videos. Understanding where they host their content today is key to staying involved with their growing community.
Where to Watch Hat Films Content Today
While the group once used a dedicated website as their primary portfolio, they now utilize major video sharing and streaming platforms. These platforms offer the most reliable way to watch their new releases and interact with them in real-time.
The Main YouTube Channel
YouTube remains the primary home for Hat Films. This is where they upload their main gaming videos, vlogs, and highly produced sketches. You can also find their “Hat Chat” podcast on this platform, which offers a more long-form look into their lives and opinions on current events.
Twitch Live Streams
For fans who want to interact with the trio live, Twitch is the place to be. They regularly stream gaming sessions, creative projects, and “Just Chatting” segments. Twitch allows for real-time interaction through chat and is often where they host community events or play games with their audience.
Social Media Updates
To stay updated on daily news, filming schedules, and behind-the-scenes content, you should follow their official social media accounts. They are most active on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. These channels are often the first place they announce new merchandise drops or upcoming live shows.
Understanding the Shift from Legacy Websites
In the early 2010s, many YouTube groups maintained independent websites to host community forums and manage private game servers. Hat Films used a dedicated domain for many years to facilitate fan interactions and Minecraft server registrations. However, as the internet evolved, the group transitioned these functions to more specialized community platforms.
If you are trying to find the old forums or server registration pages, you may find that those legacy sites are no longer active or have been repurposed. This shift was made to provide a better user experience, as dedicated community platforms offer superior moderation tools and easier access for fans on mobile devices.
How to Join the Hat Films Community
The heart of the Hat Films experience is the community. Since moving away from independent forums, the group has established two main hubs where fans can discuss videos, share fan art, and find others to play games with.
The Official Discord Server
The Discord server is currently the most active hub for the community. It serves as a modern replacement for the old forums. Inside, you will find dedicated channels for different series, general chat, and technical support for any community-run game servers. It is the best place to get immediate updates and chat with fellow fans.
The Reddit Community
The r/Hatfilms subreddit is an excellent place for long-form discussions and sharing content. Fans often post memes, fan art, and suggestions for future videos here. The members of Hat Films are known to browse the subreddit occasionally, making it a great way to share your feedback with them directly.
Accessing Hat Films Minecraft Servers
Many fans search for the group’s official website specifically to find Minecraft server IP addresses. In the past, they hosted several public and private servers, including those for popular series like “Kingdoms” or “Origins.”
Today, official server hosting is usually handled through community-led initiatives or limited-time events. To find the current IP address for any active community servers, you should check the pinned messages in their Discord server or the sidebar of their official subreddit. These areas are updated regularly by moderators to ensure the information is accurate for the current version of the game.
How to Support the Creators
If you want to support Hat Films beyond just watching their videos, there are several official ways to do so. Supporting them directly ensures they can continue to produce high-quality, independent content.
- Official Merchandise: The group sells a wide range of clothing, posters, and accessories through their official store, often branded as “Fresh Merch.” This is the only way to get authentic apparel designed by the trio.
- Channel Memberships and Subscriptions: You can support them monthly through YouTube Memberships or Twitch Subscriptions. These often come with perks like exclusive emojis and badges.
- Patreon: For those who want to go the extra mile, their Patreon page offers various tiers of support with rewards such as early access to videos or behind-the-scenes insights.
Conclusion
While the way we interact with creators has changed over the years, Hat Films remains as accessible as ever. By moving their community hubs to platforms like Discord and Reddit, they have made it easier for fans to connect and stay informed. If you were looking for their old website to find server info or forums, remember that the most current and active discussions are now happening on their official social channels.
